Mini SPI. Ralentí inestable #2. ¿Qué es y cómo mide la sonda lambda?
Second episode about the diagnosis of the unstable idling problem on this f*cking Mini SPI. This time we will check the oxygen sensor.
This beloved (just kidding) sensor is our suspect number 1 after the checks from previous episode. But let’s start with the basics: what is the oxygen sensor and how does it work?
In this new episode we will summarise anything related to the narrow-band oxygen sensor:
1.What is the lambda factor?
2.What is an stoichiometric mixture? And a rich mixture? And a lean one?
3.What does the oxygen sensor measure? How?
4.What values do we have in the ECU and why do we suspect of this f*cker?
Once we have all this crystal clear, we will perform some checkings in our Mini 1275 cc. We will use the oscilloscope we just bought and the app to read the values from the ECU. We will adjust again the idle speed and, of course, we will perform all the possible checkings to discard the oxygen sensor to be guilty of this idle problem.
