Mini SPI, how to replace the crankshaft seal
Oh my God! Why have we disassembled the clutch? My friend, this bloody Mini SPI has got some hidden tricks, and we are going to tell you all in the following episodes… Now we’ll show you a little piece: how to replace the crankshaft seal.
As seen in the previous video, the engine is in running condition (at last!) but because of a problem in the Verto clutch we had to disassemble it. In order to do some checkings, trying to find the root cause of this problem, we had to disassemble the primary shaft from the engine, and to do that the only way is to remove the crankshaft seal (this seal was brand new, as seen in the video showing the assembling process of the Verto clutch).
In this new episode we’ll see how to replace the crankshaft seal with the engine sitting in the Mini. Also, no need to remove the clutch housing, which would be a real pain in the ass.
What do we need? Patience, a brand new crankshaft seal, a special tool… and this video.
Here you have the references!
We hope this helps on your project! 😊
